First
Generation Honda
Civic Accessories/Options Collection
Here are some of the rare items I have
acquired since starting my project. Some of the items were found
in cars that were being parted out while others were tracked down
through the First
Generation
Civic
Discussion Board or on EBay. Hunting for these things is what
keeps me interested. The items are NOT for sale
unless otherwise stated:
Deluxe Gauges -
tachometer and
seperate temp and fuel pods off to the side were available in certain
CVCC models and 78-79 1200s with the
5-speed transmission. Will fit in any car simply by peeling
back the faux wood sticker and popping out the plastic panel.
once the wires
are pulled over from behind the speedso assembly they just plug
in. One of the
easier parts to find.
Wood Wheel and shift nob - Found
in
certain CVCC models and 78-79 1200's with the optional 5 speed.
Come in two an three
spoke varities. This wheel was found in a wrecked car and the nob
was from the
board.
RS exhaust
manifold - Available only
in the Japan Civic RS. Is basically a cast iron 4-2-1 header.
Found through the board and since sold to pay for paint. I just
recently acquired another one too!
Dealer Option leather wheel - 14"
leather wheel available as an accessory. Bought from another enthusiast.
Factory 12"
aluminum wheels -
Several of them depending on the year. 13" wheels were available
for the wagons and Accord. The
centre caps are usually long gone as they were plastic. The set
of
four was found in a secret "Civic graveyard."
Pocket
Speaker Grills - replaces the pocket in the rear for
speakers.
Come in all different types. This one holds a 6x9 or a 4"
speaker. Found on the floor of a wrecked car.
Passenger Side
Mirror - Option on the 78-79 models. Found while looking
for a new driver's side mirror. I was pretty confused when I got
home
and tried to fit it.
Overhead Console - Option on all
models. The N600 coupes also had them but were slightly
shorter. Found in a car sitting in a back
field.
AM/FM radio - Option on the hatch
backs. Several radios were available for thesecars while the
trunk models (sedans) only cam with a block off
plate and a cap over the attenna hole. The Am radio was standard
in the hatchbacks
and wagons. Next up wasthe AM/FM radio pictured here and then the
AM/FM stereo radio
that is evident by thetwo AM symbols on the reamining two
buttons. An 8 track
was an option as was the rare Pioneer Honda tape deck with
matching speakers.
Pioneer Honda cassette stereo -
Honda dealer option on the later models. Fits into the cubby hole
under the dash. The stereo package came with
roof mounted Pioneer speakers (pictured below) or speakers that mounted
to the rear deck of
the trunk models. Did some digging with a seller on Ebay
who was selling the manual and as
it turned out the complete stereo was in a car in a back field.
Pioneer roof mounted speakers - Clip
into the metal portion of the body just below the head liner.
Cigarette Lighter - Only available
as standard on the CVCC 5 speeds and wagons, the rest were optional but
many have it.
Other
Options/Accessories to look for:
Roof Racks, Wagon Rear deck slats, rear window wiper, rear defrost,
tonneau cover (for hatch), body mouldings, body stripes, Honda floor
mats, lower console with door, Air Conditioning, bumper
over riders, moon roof, leather shift nob, hounds tooth interior, chrome

Cannon Intake Manifold - This one is
for the 1200 motor and does not require the angled distributor.

draft (as pictured), Weber DCOE or Solex Carb. Bought from
a local
enthusiast....now sold.
A/T Engineering Dual Side Draft Intake
Manifold - For the CVCC motors or EL and EK motors.Matches up to
two
Dellorto DHLA side drafts (as pictured), Weber
DCOE's or Solex/Mukini Carbs. Took over a year to track down,
none
available new. Ended
up buying from Rick on the board. I have a lead on one more if
anyone needs one as well as NEW single
side draft manis for the EL motor.
Real Civic GL emblem from Japan.
Gratiously sent to me as a gift from Hiroshi Kawai from Club
SB-1. These fit directly into the Hondamatic or 5 speed spot on
the rear. I beleive they are supposed to be white but I filled it
in with red as the white was peeling.
Looking
For:
Any old Honda
accessories or options. In particular A/C from a CVCC and a Honda
Civic picnic set.
I am also looking for an old turbo set up for an EK or EL
motor. This is the same set up Jackson Racing sold in the late
seventies and early 80s.
